Clinton and Albion Elementary students have been busy reviewing end-of-year music topics from last year and are diving into this year's curriculum! Some favorite songs and games include: The Unicorn Popper, Frog in the Meadow, Skin and Bones, Plate Balance, The Turkey Game, Closet Key, Old Raggy, Hop Old Squirrel, Oh My! Fish in the Sky!, and of course, BoomwhackersⓇ! Lower-wing students will be experimenting with auxiliary percussion, and upper-wing students will soon be playing recorders, ukuleles, xylophone, and piano. Our Chorus and Band students are also busy preparing for their winter concert on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Williamson Center Auditorium. Music education contributes a vast variety of benefits to your brain, physical and mental health, and general well-being, and it is fun! Learning to sing or play an instrument has a direct impact on a child or teen’s development; In fact, it is more than twice that of sports, theater, or dance. So, whether your child is picking up a guitar for the first time or spending hours perfecting their singing or flute skills, you can rest assured it will be more than just music to your ears. It is a worthwhile investment in their future!

At Clinton Elementary small group instruction has a significant impact on student achievement. This teaching method allows teachers to work closely with each student. It provides a teacher with the opportunity and information to support student learning needs, locate strengths or weaknesses and to check for understanding. Here are a few pictures of small group instruction in Clinton.

Mrs. Porter's Pre-K class is hard at work during center time at Clinton Elementary. Center time is a valuable and integral part of early childhood education because it supports various aspects of a child's development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. It creates a positive and engaging learning environment that sets the stage for a lifelong love of learning.

In the first charming picture, elementary school students are racing towards a brighter future as they eagerly campaign for a place on the student council. The 2nd picture captures the essence of democracy in action, where young minds are learning the values of leadership, responsibility, and civic engagement. These students are not just running for office; they are running for the opportunity to make a positive impact on their school community. In the bustling school hallway, campaign posters adorn the walls, transforming the space into a colorful showcase of democracy in action.

Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful winter break. Just a reminder to be sure your child is dressed for the weather. We do go out for lunch recess when the temperature is 10 degrees or above, factoring in the wind chill. If students are playing in the snow, they need to also have boots, snow pants, hats and gloves as well as winter jackets. Thanks for your help with this!

Please vote Tuesday, November 8th, on Voters Referendum Question 1. The new school is 100% state funded! A new building will help us increase efficiency, enhance and increase programming opportunities, replace aging school buildings, and create a PK-6 campus. We are excited about this incredible state-funded opportunity! We will lose this gift for our children if this Question is not supported on Tuesday, November 8th. Please remember that this new school is FULLY FUNDED by the state. If we pass this up, they will give the funds to the next school in line. Please do everything you can to spread the word and support our students! Thanks and take care!

Good Afternoon Clinton! So great to see the students dressed up today. Just a reminder that we are NOT wearing costumes on Monday. Clinton Parks and Rec is sponsoring a trunk or treat event on Sunday, October 30th in Old Mill Park from 12-3. All are invited! Finally, we need to change our pick up times. Students who are picked up will be dismissed at 2:40 with the day care kiddos. Students who walk/ride bikes will be dismissed at 2:45. Bus students will remain the same, dismissed at 2:50. Thanks, take care and enjoy your weekend!

Good Afternoon Clinton. Please pay special attention to this message. The buses have been arriving at school for 8:15, so we will CHANGE the start of our day. Students may be dropped off at 8:15 and will be considered late if they arrive after 8:30. THIS WILL NOT AFFECT THE TIME YOUR CHILD IS PICKED UP IN THE MORNING, AS THIS IS THE TIME THE BUSES HAVE BEEN ARRIVING ALREADY. The end of the day will change as well, with walkers leaving at 2:40 and pick up will be at 2:45. The busses will leave at 2:50 so expect your child to be home a bit earlier than they have the past two weeks. This change will take place on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th. Any questions, feel free to reach out to me. Thanks, take care, and enjoy your weekend!
